Sunset Serenade dance competition at Asperiche

Quotes from the Sunset Serenade dance competition at Asperiche, August 10, 2013.

I thought seti summed it up well: "The dance is the mother of the Arts. Music and poetry exist in time; painting and architecture in space. But the dance lives at once in time and space."

I enjoyed all the dancers. Congratulations to the winners, including 2 from Port Haifa. Many attended from the academy as well. The event was well organized in an attractive venue. Dance types shown included the Sa eela and Placatory, and tether dance forms. These girls just keep getting better.

I wanted to share some quotes from seti, the Kajirus organizer.

seti: "On behalf of my Owner, Master Ember, Ubar of Asperiche and the City's Residents, welcome to the Asperiche Sunset Serenade Dance Competition Event.

I am seti, and am honored and humbled to have this opportunity to host this great event today.

We have six exquisite kajirae and one handsome kajirus who have prepared for weeks to delight you today in an art form held very close to their hearts…Their talents delight us, their display and movement capturing the eyes of every one of us. Each, expressing themselves in many wonderful ways and a devotion to this passion, we call Gorean Dance. As a special treat we also have an exhibition dance by Kamina, who kindly will be helping me today, as we tally the points of our Judges' cards.

Every month, on the first Saturday, Asperiche plays host to this Competition. Both the Sunset Serenade and the Sunrise Serenade are held every other month to reach an ever-growing number of participants and audience. This event, broadcast by GPR, is one of our most favored events in Asperiche. It allows the freedom of expression, the show of passion and creativity to blossom into moments of poetry and movement.

First, this boy would like to introduce our judges to you today. We thank them for taking their time and offering their expertise in judging today’s event. They are as follows:

Here in Asperiche we believe in dance. We admire, support and nurture the talents of those aspiring and those who have well accomplished themselves. Creative energies and the drive that takes each kajira and kajirus to new heights to please all Frees is not only a talent, but a gift that every kajiri can find deep within their hearts..

Our First Place Winner today will receive 3000 L. Our second place holder, 2000 L and our third place winner 1000 L. All three will also receive a trophy, ribbon and silk. For those that do not place, you are still winners in hearts, for your talents, and your inspiring dances move us all.

Now, before we begin, I would like to thank my treasured Master, The Ubar of Asperiche, for allowing me to host this for you today, and always supporting me in my endeavors, whatever they might be. At every dance, I wish my fellow kajiri – best wishes in some inspiring way... Today, I do the same… May you always remember..."The dance is the mother of the Arts. Music and poetry exist in time; painting and architecture in space. But the dance lives at once in time and space."
