Theme: Tribute to Master Samos
Venue: Ko-ro-ba

Ramius Opens:I would like to welcome you to Ko-ro-ba and the Master Samos Madrigral Memorial Dance Exhibition. Today eight tandems or groups; for a total of 26 amazing dancers; will take to the sands to remember a man who was such an influence on the dance world.
I would like to direct your attention to Samos' soap box across the dance pit under the large purple banner. Samos would often say, "I will step off my soap box" every time he would write about something he felt passionate about. Hence for each memorial dance his soap box is placed out for him.
Samos Soap Box
Ramius continues: As we look there to his place, know that today is exactly 4 years since he last logged on. Dancers, he is here today because as he said: Kajirae... dance on. I will be watching.
Let's gift him some great dancing today.

First up we have Iris and Perle. Girls, to the sands. They will be dancing to Blood-Eagle by Wardruna.
They were both asked why they dance today, and this is their response.
Iris: I'm sorry, but I really have nothing new to say here. However, all the stuff I've said about what Master Samos means to me is still true, even if I don't wish to repeat myself, and I still make sure every one of my students knows he was and what he did for dancers.
Perle:The reason I desire to always dance in this event is because Master Samos should never be forgotten by the Dancers of Gor. Those who had the privilege to know him should let dancers new to the sands know of him. He loved Gorean dance and showed that love in the most unselfish, caring and supportive way that he could. I wish that he were here, still, but as he can not be, then I wish to honour his memory.
Girls, the sands are yours. Dance for him.
“Imagine two bond-maids, traveling with their Jarl between holdings on an early autumn day. Picture the bonds upon the ground as he lays dying, the victim of a sudden attack by brigands.
The blonde, his favored slave, curls abjectly in a ball, sobs echoing, but soon stretches out and begins to move to the pounding beat of a grieving heart, offering the last service she can think to give him.”
Green eyes look with disdain on her fellow bond as she settles to care for the Jarl. Rising up she stretches her lithe body, slender fingers dragging over her steel collar as though it weighs heavy upon her neck. Lips part and an impatient sigh escapes from her, then she breathes deeply, as if she savours the scent of freedom.

Ramius: Next we have Elli and Tishina who are dancing to Roundtable Rival by Lindsey Stirling. Girls, to the sands.
When asked why they dance today they said:
Elli: I have danced in every anniversary memorial for him since his death. I am dancing in this one, even though I do not dance very often anymore because of the huge impact he had on my dancing. His reviews and insights helped me to form my dance style into what it is today and kept me dancing when others had made me so dispirited that I had almost given up. To him I will always be grateful for what he unknowingly did for me when I first started dancing. Thank you Master Samos.
Tishina: This will be the first time I have dance for him and I feel privileged and honored to be able to I have never met him but have heard so many great things about him.Master Samos, Masters,Jarls, and Mistresses thank you for letting this girl dance for you I hope you enjoy it and that this girl does you proud.
Two lovely girls stand posed in the sands, eyes shining with emotion as they prepare to honor the Man who was The BEST dance mentor in Second Life Gor. The taller of the two flame-haired beauties takes a stance near the back of the pit, one slender hip cocked as she waits.
The other, adopts a saucy demeanor. stubborn chin lifted as fiery curls flow down a slender back. Emerald eyes lift towards the sky and she whispers softly... "we are here for You Master!"

Ramius: Rosa and Vana will next grace the sands. They are dancing to Arabic Amazon. Girls, to the sands.
When asked why they dance today they stated: We have heard a lot about him in words of encouragement .. I would have liked to know. We want to make a tribute to him tonight, and hope that his memory and his advice will never be forgotten.
Girls, the sands are yours.
A humble slave eager to please the Master, finds herself desperate when she learns she must dance. The first girl is very experienced and used to delighting men, will not be outdone. A battle is shaping up to be the most desirable slave.

Ramius: Up next we have a group. Koardan, bring those girls up here. We have Amethyst, Aytul, Juls, Nym, Snow and Tissia. They will be dancing a coffle dance to Dune by Faran Ensemble. We'll need a moment while Koardan gets all his girls in their proper spots. Oh, the woes of being a slaver.
Reasons they are dancing today:
Though Koardan has judged countless events since 2012, he has also composed and performed dances to better understand what trials and terrors the dancers face. He admires the Gorean dance community's dedication to the legacy and teachings of Samos and views Samos as a role model for us all.
Amethyst wishes to dance in this event as over the years she has been a part of dancing in SLGor and has admired the dedication and inspiration that Master Samos had for dancing. She attended the first memorial and is honored to dance at this one as this is her first time to participate.
To Aytul, dance has only recently entered this kajira's awareness and she is happy that with her Master's blessing she is able to explore such a lovely art form.
Juls always admired Master Samos from afar and eagerly listened to all the advice he gave to dancers across Gor. He encouraged dancers to be original, to push boundaries, and to show instead of tell. To always be themselves. She is thankful his teachings live on, and that so many still reflect his ideas in their mentorship and dances.
Nym wishes to honor Master Samos as the one and only champion of Faction Dance and the one who sets the fire alive in slave bellies all over Gor even today.
Snow has come to understand a slave's dance is the truest form of communicating and expressing her heart, need, and desire. She never had the opportunity to dance before Master Samos but attended many dances he reviewed and his writings inspired Snow to take a leap of faith into the sands.
Tissia is pleased to be able to offer a small piece to the art form that was propelled and championed by such a Master.
Snow: Greetings all, This dance is dedicated to Mily! In Mily's Ko-ro-ba Kajira Academy dance classes, she strives to continue the teachings of Master Samos. In one particular class Mily shares her coffle dance and has students look at this dance in different ways. One approach would be to have each dancer respond, being a part of the coffle dance, which we are performing for you today in honor of Master Samos' memory and hope you enjoy.
Slaver: "Attend me, Coffle," said he, "for bondage march." His hand, the visible signal of preparation, poised over his thigh.
Slave Girl: Only in a world where there were true men could there be true women. We tense. Cold steel on our ankles, with its chain.
Slaver: Strikes his right thigh with his open hand, suddenly, sharply.
Slave Girl: As the musicians play, we move out, slave girls, on the left foot, that the pace of the march be uniform. We were to be sold.
Slaver: Snaps whip, the leather's hiss reverberating in the air, "Number 1 and number 4 dance for these buyers!"

Ramius: Up next we have June and Kachina dancing to Transcendence by Lindsay Stirling.
Girls, to the sands.
Their reason for dancing today:
June: I didn't know him but loving dance as i do i dance because it shows his vision to come alive.
Kachina: I am apart of the Dance Pit Raiders where i dance for Cancer, Giving the free hope. After losing my uncle to Cancer It made me realize that we are all a family no matter what crosses our path whether good or bad. I will always hold those who have cancer or have battled or have lost loved ones to this deadly disease. I would like people to stand with me this day and give a little hope and love to those who are suffering, Thank you for letting me dance this day and i hope to be found pleasing.
Two new dance slave girls who live in the same city and haven't seen each other for a period of time. Scurrying to the dance pit, they meet up on the sands to tell their story to each other of their journey, “We are here Master, our first time!”

Ramius: Hehe… he must have one of the loveliest chains on Gor grins. Their reason for dancing today?
Master Samos encouraged dancers to write from their hearts...to do their best...but most importantly, to enjoy what they are doing! He was and continues to be a source of inspiration to many. lala still looks back on past reviews and can almost hear his words. But one thing that can be said is she will dance until she is no longer pleasing.
*looks to the sky* We keep dancing, Master Samos!!
Girls, the sands are yours. Dance for him.
Lala smiles warmly, "Greetings Ubar, Masters, Jarls and Mistresses. This dance is a wordless performance, where the music and motions show the story. It is with the greatest respect and admiration that we, the girls of Master Paladin Falconer, Sword of Ko-ro-ba, present 'Missing You' and hope that You find this pleasing."

Reasons for dancing today:
Dot : Dot did not know Master Samos, but has heard about him through Mily and group notices etc… Such dedication that he seems to have had, deserves to be honored. With a dance of course.
Eir is honored to dance at the memorial of Master Samos among so many wonderful dancers and remembers him as a man who supported all those brave enough to step into the sands. May he rest in peace always.
Rachellla: Today is something special and she feels very honored to be allowed to dance at this special event
Maia: It was unfortunate that during the time Master Samos was so active in the dance community was the time that I took a break from SL. In a way I envy the dancers that had a chance to speak with him and listen to his words of wisdom, I have read many of his reviews out of curiosity and I guess its his letter of the 1/11/11 that kind of puts things into perspective that dance is not all about winning or being the best it's about dancing with the absolute purity of heart.
Girls, the sands are yours. Dance for him.
It is not unknown for slaves to be auctioned off in groups, nor is it unusual at the larger auction houses for the slaves performance on the auction block to have been choreographed and practiced well beforehand.
Please imagine a group of slaves, chain sisters who have just returned to their pen after many Ahn of rehearsing the dance they are to perform the following day on the wooden platform where they would be sold. Rehearsal had not gone well and not a word had been exchanged between them, and now only the gentle sound of a drum from the tavern nearby is all that can be heard.

Ramius: Now, as we approach the end of our event today, we have Mily, Elli and Perle. Girls, to the sands.
Together we came up with a little something that is all about Master Samos and what He taught us. We hope you enjoy it.
Reasons for dancing today:
Though absent you are very near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
Mily.. I lose the words when I try to explain why I feel this event and His words are so important. All I know is I loved him. He taught me some huge lessons and I can see now how He aided me in finding the place I am in now. Thank You Master for all you did and continue to do for Gorean dance. I am grateful for the time I had with You and grateful for the lessons that led me to where I am now.. No estoy sola nunca más
Girls, the sands are yours. Dance for him.
Mily takes a deep breath walking forward. whispering.. "Ok mily like He said to do, show them what faction is all about.”

Ramius: Please welcome Ubar Scar Statosky and extend thanks to him for allowing this event to take place in Ko-ro-ba. Ubar? You have a few words?
Scar Statosky: Thank you Ramius. A GRAND exhibition! Once again, the dancers today have danced with wit.... and charm.... and purpose. Their talents are beyond magnificent. Beautiful and delicately sensuous, they have shown their hearts today. They dance to honor Samos Madrigal in a way no other has been honored.
Samos was the catalyst that caused Gorean dance to flourish and grow in Second Life. I can think of only a few who have had such an influence on the expansion and growth of Gor on the whole of the community, and he, and only he has had such a wide and prevalent influence on Gorean dance and the girls who provide us with their interpretations of that dance.
He singularly supported and enthusiastically encouraged the girls to continue dancing, to compete, and to dance again. The girls who have danced here today have proven that his methodology, his sensitivity to their feelings, and his astute eyes that could attend to details, worked to bring us such marvelous dancers.
It is our city's privilege to support this exhibition of dance in Samos' honor. You have pleased him, I am certain, girls................ as you have pleased all of us here today.
Scar Statosky turns to the crowd.............. Let's give them all one last round of resounding applause!

Ramius: We'll end today with his words...
Dancers of Gor,
It has been my pleasure to watch and adore and review you for years now. As you probably know, my journey may soon be heading into "Third Life". I am at total peace in first and second lives, having accomplished precious goals in both. I leave my loveslave, mily, to continue to pursue my goals and preserve my gains, regarding SL Gorean dance. I do not know just how things will play out, but I trust in fate, in God, and in Gor.
And to you Free, who tolerated my speculations and comments on your properties, my thanks for not coming after me with blades or axes.
Kajirae... dance on. I will be watching.
